Hello from Udon Thani!

So we made it to our Habitat destination earlier today after an easy one hour flight from Bangkok. We're building in Udon Thani, a city in the Northeast part of Thailand. Habitat staff met us at the local airport with roses, chocolates and an Easter egg for each team member--they've been awesome so far! We rode in open air buses to our hotel, which thank GOD has AC--it was a whopping 38 degrees Celcius today (which translates to somewhere around 100 F). We made it to a park this afternoon for Thai aerobics on the green, then went to a great local restaurant for the good, authentic meal. Lots of rice and noodles with various toppings=yum.

Here are some initial pics from today--our first Buddy Bear pics are debuting in case you're wondering about the strange stuffed bear. (JB's mom is a kindergarten teacher and each class has a Buddy Bear with a backstory. The 2010-11 Buddy Bear is Thai Buddy, and his back story is our Habitat build and time in Thailand. So far, he's had it pretty easy.)

Tomorrow is our first build day, so we'll have lots to share tomorrow night.

Til then,
